Which CDL written test do I need to pass first?
The General Knowledge test. Every CDL applicant must pass it before adding any endorsement, and you need it to obtain your Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP).
Do I need every endorsement test?
No. You only need the endorsements for the vehicles you actually intend to drive. Most drivers add one or two. Air Brakes is required for any vehicle equipped with them.
How many questions are on the CDL written tests?
The General Knowledge test has 50 questions in most states with an 80% passing score. Endorsement tests are shorter. Question counts can vary slightly by state, so always confirm with your own DMV.
Can I take these practice tests on my phone?
Yes. Every test runs in the browser, works on mobile, and you can retake each one as many times as you like to track your progress.
